A man I did not, and never would have had, the pleasure to meet. I hope however that in life he was as richly appreciated as I now appreciate his work in death. A great loss.

I´ve just finished The Girl who played with fire, and I have to say that if I liked the first one a lot, this second one is just Great! I can´t wait for the third, but I think till November or so it won´t be in Spain. The plot is superb and the character of Lisbeth Salander fascinating. Thanks Stieg!

Ill begin with apologizing for my poor english.
I'm only a 18 year old swede, but I've inherited an avid passion for crime novels from my mother.
Reading these three books has been a great experience for several reasons. Primarily because of how superb the books were but also because of the environment in which the plot takes place.
I was born at Södermalm, Stockholm and have lived there ever since, so reading about all the places they visited was very fun.
But the thing that caught me off-guard was the fact how the first book begins, with Blomkvist sailing through the Guest harbor (?) of Arholma, and later *SPOILER* when it's revealed that he owns a small shed in Sandhamn. I work att ferrys trafficking the Stockholm archipelago during summers, I visit Arholma almost everyday during summer and has walked past his shed several times so it was entertaining and surprising to read about in his books :)
So if you ever travel to Stockholm remember to go down to the quay and I'll take you to places described in the books, you don't want to miss the Stockholm archipelago!

A superb thriller, gripping from the first page. Very hard to put down. One of the truly great thriller writers who went befroe his time.

I just finished Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a few minutes ago, and thought it was outstanding.
In fact, I just had to order the next book in the series off Amazon UK, due to the fact that it is not out here in the US till July, and I don't want to wait!
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. I'm quite sorry to hear that Larsson is no longer alive and writing.

Have just read the first book. Amazing page-turner! I'm so sad there are only three books when he had planned for eleven. Can't wait to read the other two!

Dragon Tatoo was the best suspense novel I have ever read...and I have read hundreds. I was so stunned to learn that Larsson is gone. Does anyone know if any of his other works were translated into English?

I read the first two books in no time at all, though I tried to make the last pages last a bit longer! I couldn't stand to leave Kalle and Lisbeth, knowing the third book is so long ahead!
I've always been an avid reader, but the Larsson experience is something new. As a middle-aged working mother and wife, apparently I'm not supposed to plunge into a book and become oblivious of my surroundings, that's for teens! But my family knows better!
