Boxed set edition of the Millennium Trilogy, the first volume of which, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has been adapted as a major Hollywood film starring Daniel Craig to be released on the 26th December.
I read the first novel in English, and I was soooooo desperate to read the others so that I bought them in German. Completely worth it!!! I ll probably read them in English again and, since I m studying Swedish now, I ll certainly read the whole trilogy in Swedish as well. I bet it will be a new experience each time, as with every great novel.
Too sad Larsson left us so early, he was the most talented author for that genre I have read in years...

I just finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and what I take away is that I did not know about the Nazi influence and I for one am glad of its exposure. My family is from Sweden and no one talked about this with us around the dining table and I wish that they had. I know that if you talk about both the good and the bad of your country of origin you enlighten and free people. If you keep it a deep dark secret then you make it something tantilizing. When that happens then the ones that want to gain through munipulation and guile will be able to gather more and more followers. If you want to expose the rats in the rushes you have to stir the rushes up.

Now that the tirth book of The Milleniumtrology is translated in Flemish, and been read by a great admirer of Larsson of Lisbeth, I feel lost and sad that the autor left us with fantasies and questions about the rest of that eminent and great story about Sweden and Blomkwist and Salander.

I just picked up the first in the series and can't put it down. It's terrific. This is the first book that I've read that takes place in Sweden, so I'm enjoying learning a bit about life in Sweden. Now, what to do until the others are published in USA! I work in a Barnes & Noble Bookstore and will be recommending it to my customers.

I had been selling The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in the bookshop I manage in Tring in Hertfordshire and though it was popular I never read it till my husband was given a copy by a friend. He read it and was completely entranced and persuaded me that it was worth reading. I am now recommending it to everyone. I really could not put it down I became lost in its world. Brilliant detective thriller, good characterization great scene setting and increasing tension. Wonderful stand alone novel but also I cared about the characters enough to intend to buy the book in hardback in 2009 because I really cannot wait to read it.
