Boxed set edition of the Millennium Trilogy, the first volume of which, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has been adapted as a major Hollywood film starring Daniel Craig to be released on the 26th December.
This is the best book I have read this year. Amazing! Larsson's ability to capture atmosphere and create suspense is outstanding. I look forward to the next books and for a moment even wondered if I should go ahead and learn Swedish so I would not have to wait for the translations!! I sincerely lament the passing of this talented man.

In my opinion Stieg Larssons books are simple lessons in how to fool yourself. The hero is a nazi, a bloodthursty animal witout humanity and respect for the law. But as effecient as the original mr. Bond. And a victim. O, poor Lisbeth Salamander! Your blood is as cold as mr. Hitlers. May your fans come to the conclusion, that late mr. Larsson tricks his reader like mr. Hitch tricked his spectator. There is a nazi in every man, in every woman.

I am freelance writer and newspaper publisher in Vancouver, WA, USA. I heard an excellent review of the English translation of "The Girl... Dragon Tattoo" on National Public Radio and picked up a copy. Very engrossing and layered. Rich characterization and intricate descriptive detail. I'll see that it gets reviewed in the area press.

I'm a non-stop reader and just finished an 18 hour reading marathon with "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". What a fantastic book! And to read it now, during our own economic crisis with its parallels to the Swedish stock market crash written about in this marvelous piece of fiction- what a treat. I can't wait for the next two novels. What a shame that this fine writer died so young.

OK, not going to murk the praise. I was very hooked with Vol 1 and 2. But Vol 3 is way too long, very boring at times. Luckily it gets up to speed halfway down the line or so. Very good read, but not a masterpiece, NO!

So fantastic, a real tragedy to have lost you as a writer. I loved reading the girl with the dragon tatoo, growing up in Sweden just made the book so much more special.
