Before his career as a writer, Stieg Larsson was mostly known for his struggle against racism and right-wing extremism. Starting in the late 1970's, he combined his work as a graphic designer with holding lectures on right-wing extremism for Scotland Yard. During the following years he became an expert on the subject and held many lectures as well as writing many novels on the subject. In 1995, when 8 people were killed by neo-Nazis in Sweden, he was the main force behind the founding of the Expo-foundation, a group intended on exposing neo-Nazi activity in Sweden. From 1999 onwards he was appointed chief editor of the magazine Expo.

During the last 15 years of his life, he and his life companion Eva Gabrielsson lived under constant threat from right-wing violence.

The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo is one of the most intriguing books I've read in my 75 years. I must access more of his texts--a brilliant man.

These books are amazing! I think the world is really missing out, because of Stiegs death. We only got to read the start. I guess we'll always keep thinking about the rest that could have been.

There is actually a fourth book, wich is in eva gabrielsson's propperty, anyway, she declared this book would never see the ligth, because she disagree with the way that larsson work was managed by the media, she was specially upset with the movies (both of them) personally i am also a huge fan of salander, and would definitly love to hear more about her, sadly so far, is not going to happen

This is one of those books I have not yet read. It's on the TBR pile but it is a far ways down the list. Thanks for the great information though. As to the comment above about the Holy Ghost Writer book: That Girl Started Her Own Country, I actually did read that one. It was an impulse buy but all the same, I thought it was a pretty good read. IT definitely fits in with the Thriller crime theme you have going here. You can find it on Amazon or if you want to read more about it before you buy you can read reviews and such on both amazon and goodreads. All in all it was worth my time and money to read.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a fantastic thriller. As a matter of interest, if you like crime thrillers that are similar to this book and have the same themes, such as female empowerment and rebellion against the establishment, have a look at this book: "That Girl Started Her Own Country", written by the "Holy Ghost Writer". It is an intelligently-written, thoroughly entertaining page-turner, full of international intrigue and engaging, interesting characters. It has fast action and many plots and twists that keep you guessing. I literally could not put it down. It is available on Amazon, Goodreads and Barnes and Noble. But don't take my word for it - check out all the glowing 5 star reviews, if you still need convincing. I urge you to check it out. You won’t be disappointed!
