Boxed set edition of the Millennium Trilogy, the first volume of which, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has been adapted as a major Hollywood film starring Daniel Craig to be released on the 26th December.
Do I need to read the books in order? I just purchased The Girl Who Played with Fire but haven't read Dragon Tatoo yet?

Yes, I believe so. I am reading the first one right now, and some of the main charactors havn't really met each other yet, like Mikael and Lisbeth, the first is when they meet and team up.

You most definitely do. It would make a lot more sense if you did. Read Dragon Tattoo, Fire, and then Hornet's Nest.
It took me four days to get through the three of them, and I absolutely loved it!

I am a 14 year old girl, and I got the first book for my birthday from my sister, since I had asked her to get it for me.
It left me shocked, and I loved it. I bought the second and third right after I was finished, and it took me a total of four days to read all three books. It left my mind blown, as to how someone could write such an amazing trilogy, with everything plotted out in the most ingenious way possible.
It's too bad S.L passed away, because I would have loved reading more books by home.
