Despite some previous comments, I love the books. I can't say about errors or mistranslations as none have been obvious to me and I don't speak Swedish so I cannot compare to the original. I have just received my paperback order of the third book, and am itching to read it.
In a fashioned way, long live Stieg Larsson. :)

Unfortunately, the English translation is pretty ordinary, with several glaring errors and mistranslations. Someone with skill should retranslate the series. At present, it is an amateur effort at best.

Hello . I´m reading the third book .
Here in chile we still need L.S. and M.B. to help us against the new elected president from the right wing , his government team is build up of former pinochet supporters .
If you like the millenium trilogy , then you will know that it is all about fighting for the human rights, please help us , visit www.theclinic.cl , www.ciperchile.cl , www.cambio21.cl , and forget about the traditional media.
only god knows what will become of the state channel www.TVN.cl , now in the hands of a "speculator with public service vocation" , follower of the "nobel prize winner" Mr. Friedmann and the greed nested in Wall str

I saw the movie and then read the book. "The Girl With
The Dragon Tattoo" The movie followed the book very
closely, but I preferred the movie's ending rather than the books.

What has Chile to do with the book or film?

May Eva Gabrielsson be recognized as Larssen's de facto wife. May she be allowed to use the proceeds of his books to continue causes like the Expo and present his writing as he would have wanted it. More will be published, and it should be framed by the care of those who understood, promoted and lived it.
- Vian Falc Residovic, 6 April 2010
Yes, I feel that Eva should continue with Expo.
- Jane Greenfield, 7 April 2010
It strikes me that given the circumstances of their life, Eva Gabrielson should be allowed to posthumously obtain a marriage license if not dejure at least symbolically, for she is already defacto

I bought the first novel with out realising what I had begun, now I am on the third book and suffering sleep deprivation due to not being able to stop until it's all done and dusted.
