This is one of the densest novels I've ever read! And you've got to pay attention...I love this heroine, she's everything that many of us would like to be, fearless, organized, supersmart. These are remarkable books indeed. I see a similarity between Lisbeth and Smilla ("Smilla's Sense of Snow"), the heroine of another wonderful Scandinavian imagination.

I will be looking for Peter Hoeg's Smilla's Sense of Snow. Thanks for the suggestion!!

All three bookes are amazing. It kept me awake through several nights, and I had to force my self to go to sleep. I heard about a fourth book still in the PC of Larsson and only one person seems to be able to retrieve it. And, this person seems to be caught in a inheritance problem which is not settled yet. Maybe this is a rumor. As a fan I would love to read a fourth book. But, also sad to know that Stieg Larsson himself could not see his own book success.

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to Steig's first two books. His development of the characters is amazing. I was unaware of the third book until I came upon this website and have just ordered the third book on cd from Amazon.uk... thanks Suzanne! I cannot wait to see what Lisbeth gets entangled with in the last book.

The best books I ever read!! Now Its so difficult to find new book after those 3...

Yeah.....I've never been so entertained in the crime-thriller catagory.....makes most of the so-called best American writers in the same genre look weak......but try Martin Cruz Smith if you are struggling with withdrawl symptoms to find anything else that comes close to Mr Larsson's three superior titles. Sadly though, finding a new character who matches up to Salander is going to be a serious problem!

Thanks for the suggestion of Martin Cruz Smith! Any one book to recommend I start with???

The Girl with the dragon tattoo is BRILLIANT!
I could not put the book down.
Needless to say I am looking forward to reading the other two. As Cristopher Corbett said, we could have followed Lisbeth for years.

Just finished the Girl who Kicked the hornets nest. A friend ordered it from overseas because it's not available in the states yet. I thought it was better then the 1st two, that I also thought they were great. It's really too bad about Mr. Larsson's death as he hit a homerun with this series and Lisbeth was certainly someone we could follow for years to come. I'm sad now because I'm done with them.

My wife is Estonian from Russian origin and was interested to see if the trilogi has been translated into russian. I read the Dutch version and that is too difficult for her. I do'nt think there's a Russian version yet. They are probalby still negociating with publishers. Can you imagine if this work comes out in Chinees / Russian or Indian versions how many more they will sell. My wife did some research on internet and claims that Stieg Larsson was popular in Russia for his playwritting ?? This is new for me after reading and seeing ( DVD 1 extra ) his biografie. I told her this is probably a case of mistaken identity. Stieg and Larsson are such a common names in Sweden that I think this is probably another person. Does anybody know if this could be true. I want to proove my wife wrong, and not easy to do that.
As I said, she is Russian :)

Yes he is another Swedish author, known for his quite weird and dark dramas about power and vulnerability. But he spells his name Stig, not Stieg.
By the way, Stieg was named Stig but changed to avoid confusion with the mentioned Stig. I have never heard of another Stieg Larsson.

Txs Tom. Nice that somebody could answer this for me. I was right and my dear wife was wrong. She'll be pissed. lol. Enjoy reading
