I'm writing from Calgary, Alberta in Canada. I picked up The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo randomly at my public library for reading while on vacation in Mexico. I had trouble putting it down. I did not realize until I was finished that this was the first one of a trilogy. I felt at the end of the book that there had to be more, so was pleased to find out that there were two more books to read. However, when I put a hold on the second book, I am 234 on a waiting list and no mention of the third book. I'm not sure if my library had not received this in paperback yet. I will have to investigate. At any rate, I an anxious to read more. As a senior, I do not usually purchase books because of the cost, so may have a bit of a wait. Oh well, it will be worth it.

It was published in the UK in October. I was lucky enough to be there and bring a copy back to Miami.

I read this book on holiday, what a great book. I can hardly wait to read the next two. I'd love to see the movie, I'd be fine with subtitles. I'm from Canada and the cold and snow flet so familiar.

Larsson was not only an excellent writer, a wizard of detective story, but - very importantly - all he stood for is clear in his writings: human rights and anti-rasism. The world of 21st century is still full of prejudice, extermism, hypocracy, and abuse and Larsson pointed this out in every chapter. Sadly, he is no longer with us to see his bestselling trilogy win hearts and hopefully influence souls worldwide.

I just re-read the last 100 pages of the third book - this writer, this human being, was incredible and his death is a HUGE loss for serious readers as well as those who know what he was fighting for was right on - Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist are among the most fascinating creations ever to grace the pages of a novel - the 2nd novel left me stunned it was that good and that surprising. these are being given to my man for xmas and if he doesn't LOVE them I may have to dump him!!

lol to last comment - I get that totally :) - as for the rest of the comment - I also totally concur. A real loss not just the writer but the human being.

I bought the last book of the trilogy first, and after reading the reviews realized what I had done. I then decided not to read it until I had bought and read the first two books in the series. What an amazing author, I
could not put the book down, I love his characters, especially Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander, what a team. I have since read the second book "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and am now on the last of the three, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest" Stieg Larsson was an incredible author what a terrible shame he died so suddenly.

To those asking about English sub-titles. The film will be shown with English sub-titles at the Sommerville outdoor cinema at the University of Western Aistralia at the beginning of March. It is a beautiful venue under the pines in the magnificent city of Perth. I can recommend a visit, the film will be a bonus. Hope to see you there. If you can't make it it must be playing at other venues too. Enjoy!

I have to have a break after reading your books, nothing else quenches my thirst. In fact I experience withdrawal symptoms.
