The trilogy

Millennium trilogy

Stieg Larsson had always been interested in detective novels, and he was very familiar the works of Elizabeth George and Minette Walters. Just finished the book. It is one of the best (If not the best) written crime novel I´ve read. Both of the main characters, grabed your attention and it´s impossible not to like them and want to keep following their lives stories.

I agree with Mitzy, it´s shocking that his partner doesn´t get the money from the book. Shows clearly the unfairness of the swedish laws. (I am guessing they had a common law marriage).

Anyway, I think everyone should read this one. It´s complicated, thrilling, beatiful, ugly and not possible to put it down once you start reading.

Thank you so much Stieg Larsson

Stieg Larssons ' way of writing is mesmerizing. He doesn't miss a detail, keeps you reading on and on because of his different storylines. He's absolutely great in his genre. I only am very schocked that his partner in life for more than 30 years doesn't get a penny from it8 Especially when you see what his books are about: against any form of discrimination, womens fragile position in a mans world, a persons struggle against administrators. I hope his brother and father finally really listen to his words and divide the heritage at leastin two.

By far the best modern crime writer - what a tragic loss- all my condolences to his family and friends. Living in England the books give me an insight into Swedish life and attitudes as well as being fantastic stories. I do not think a movie could him justice-it would need a director of real stature-if he was still alive Kubrick would have been ideal.

"Girls With Dragon Tattoo" grabbed me with the first chapter and wouldn't let go till I finished it. A wonderful experience! Perhaps my appreciation was heightened because last summer I visited Norway and Lapland and could visualize some of the background.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and am eagerly awaitng the arrival of "The Girl who Played with Fire" in my neck of the woods. Lisbeth is such an interesting character that I feel I need to get to know her better.

Many thanks to Daryl for recommending the book!

For any regular reader, probably the most common answer to the question "and which is your favourite book ever read"...the answer is simple. "there are more the one..." well, i think that for those that read Stieg's saga, the answer will not be that vague any more...thanks Stieg!
