Boxed set edition of the Millennium Trilogy, the first volume of which, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has been adapted as a major Hollywood film starring Daniel Craig to be released on the 26th December.
Picked up "Tattoo" in an airport last month. Took me a few tries to get started (corporate finance details in Sweden didn't hook me right away) and am so glad I didn't give up. I find myself in the unusual predicament of falling hard for the Lisbeth character with the full realization that Mr. Larsson is no longer with us to share his amazing creation beyond the next few novels. I will look for the next two to get my fix. It's rare to finish a book with such a sense of both excitement for the next installment and sadness that there will indeed be an end.

Just finished "The Girl Who Played With Fire," it was a great and surprising followup to the first book. Looking forward to the 3rd book with great anticipation.

Please, please, please...do not let Angelina Jolie get her hands on the Lisbeth Salander role if this movie ever gets made in Hollywood! She is not right for the part and she is so over-exposed, in general. This part should truly go to an undiscovered young actress of real depth. I hope whoever options the movie rights in U.S. is smart about this.

Mystified by "Practical Pig" until my wife Arja Kajermo (cartoonist in DN: "Tuula") explained the term "Bror Duktig". This comes from a 1930s Disney film of the "The Three Pigs", which in the Swedish version had the clever brick-building pig named as Bror Duktig. The wolf had certain racial characteristics which had to be edited out, later.
