Boxed set edition of the Millennium Trilogy, the first volume of which, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has been adapted as a major Hollywood film starring Daniel Craig to be released on the 26th December.
Daniel Craig was officially announced in July 2010 by Sony Pictures Entertainment to play the role as Mikael Blomkvist. The Brittish actor who is most known form his role as James Bond in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Just Like Rooney Mara the part in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has been a tremendous career boost. Craig who was relativly unknown before Casino Royale is now together with Rooney Mara one of Hollywoods most wanted actor.
Before Daniel Craig was annouced for the role a lot of rumors had been circling. Both Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp were discussed for role but in the end Craig was the one who was annouced.
Before "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" Daniel Craig and directior David Fincher had never worked together before. In the clip below Daniel Craig talks about how it was working with David Fincher.
The role of Lisbeth Salander will be played by Rooney Mara. Mara who recently played in The Social Network, the film about Facebook and before that The terror on Elm Street.
The could not be a more amazing lead male character Daniel Criag , he was outstanding as Blomkvirst. So laid back and steely in his actions. Loved him Depp and the rest could not have given such an amazing preformance.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman would have been great in this role. Daniel Craig is fairy floss by comparison. Doesn't anyone in "Hollywood" have any idea of characterisation.

Surely you jest! Daniel Craig is a great choice. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a great actor.. he would make one of the most perfect villians..cold hearted nazi bastards..there were enough of them to choose from.

Daniel was a perfect choice! Most people thought Rooney stole the movie but I kept watching the actor's subtle choices he made. From where he placed his eyeglasses on his face to him readily replying to Lisbeth "I like working with you" (which conveyed that he like working w/her and having sex with her). I loved how the little bit of Harriet's story about how Anita sent her husband along w/ Harriet to London saying if you love me, don't ask questions and later how Blomkvist gives Lisbeth his lifesaving w/out asking her any questions. I love how Daniel decided to draw on the author's biography, how he never initiated any sex with any women (probably from Larrson witnessing a rape when he was young) and never wanting a woman to perceive he was being aggressive. I love the coffee scene where Blomvist watched with pride the tv screen with financial mafia scrolled on it. He was perfect.. and if there is a real life man w/ Craig's physical looks and Blomkvist personality, call me!
