Characters in this book range from sympathetic to unbelievable. Blomqvist is everyman, highly talented; we like him in spite of his failings. Salander (The Girl ...) is the techie researcher/savant who rights wrongs in her own way - the antihero. Henrik Vanger supposedly doesn't know anything about serial killers and sexual deviants in his own family; he's not believable. Set in austere and frigid northern Sweden, this is a book you can't put down until the mystery is solved. Many themes include economics, politics, religion, history, and abnormal psychology. But the main conflict in the story is the struggle between good and evil. In the end, I'm not sure which wins.
